Positive aspects of the product (pros): Antishake, big monitor, very good viewfinder, controls also very good
Cons: if AS is on, shutter speed gets set automatically lower. ISO Auto only up to ISO 400

I do not write a lot about image quality with all the 6MP cameras I used. I do think that there is not that much difference in real life prints and the know-how in Photoshop is making a bigger difference than the diference in the sensor quality.

The Dynax/Maxxum/Alpha 7D is a great camera for this price. Especially now, after they announced to discontinue and to hand over to Sony.

Very good viewfinder, ISO information in viewfinder when pressing the ISO buttom. AF/MF button on the rear very handy. Buttom for metering is programmable. I use the press teh button always for spot metering, standard setting for te circle is matrix. With this it is very fast to switch between both.

Handling is very good with all the dials and buttons. I do not like to set up everything in usermenus Smile

Big and bright monitor. But in direct sunlight, every monitor is weak Smile

Antishake really works, although Minolta made in my view a mistake with the programming. When Antisahke is turned on, the camera prefers a slower shutter speed with lower ISO instead of going up in ISO auto. This means in real life, that the AS prefers 1/30s with ISO 200 than 1/60s with ISO 400. This is not how I would like to have it. So I use AS not as a standartd setting, only, if I really need it.

I am a Zeiss-Contax user. The Minolta lenses I used so far can not match that image quality level (Minolta 50/1.7, 17-35/2.8-4, 135/2.8, Kit Zoom 18-55, 28-85/3.5-4.5). So I hope for new Zeiss lenses for Minolta mount at Photokina to put it on my 7D Smile
